► All teams that register for The NYC Film Race must send one team representative to M.J. Armstrong's (19th Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan) at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 30th, 2006.

► A brief Q & A will be held starting at 11:30AM and a Theme and Surprise Element will be given at exactly 12:00PM to all the teams.  Past examples of themes have been "Spare Change" and "Revenge".  The Surprise Element can be a prop (ex. toothbrush), a line of dialogue which must be spoken by a character in the film (ex. “Get out of my face!”) or an action which must be performed in the film (ex. walking up stairs)

► The teams will then have exactly 12 hours to write, shoot, edit and score an original short film (4 minutes max) based on the theme announced.

► The completed movie must be submitted on mini-DV NTSC or DVD format (along with the necessary paperwork) the same night by midnight back at M.J. Armstrong's where there will be an exclusive party for participants of The NYC Film Race.
