If your story is listed below in the top 5, congratulations on advancing to the 2nd Round kicking off at 11:59PM EDT this Thursday, March 17th!  Regardless if your story placed or not, everyone should be proud for rising to the challenge and creating an original story from scratch in just 8 days.  This was our largest field ever and there were many great stories that aren't recognized below.  Thank you to everyone for participating, we hope it was an inspiring experience!

#1 'The Battelaxe' by Imogen Harris SYNOPSIS - A TV chef finds out just how useful her fan base can be. Even if they are a little...strange.

#2 'The Seamless Games' by Vanessa Barone SYNOPSIS - In a Trump-Palin America, restaurants and food delivery are available only to the very rich, leaving New Yorkers at risk of starving as knowledge of the mysterious ways of the kitchen are long gone. Local paramedic, Jennifer’s only hope is the annual ‘Seamless Games’ in which five young New Yorkers compete in a cooking show to win a lifetime supply of food delivery.

#3 'Of Asparagus and Austrailians' by Bryan Aukerman SYNOPSIS - Life with a new roommate is hard enough without the strain of food allergies, sexual orientations, or culinary icon Curtis Stone getting in the way. Luckily, shows like Top Chef are always a reliable source of connection.

#4 'Wendell's Worst Day' by Ashlee Camehl SYNOPSIS - Wendell is a man accustomed to bad things happening, but when he’s overwhelmed with disappointment he tries—unsuccessfully—to fight back.

#5 'Well Done' by Beth Miles SYNOPSIS - Frank, a resident at Autumn Care, proves to Wendy, the social activities director, that even an old codger can change his ways when he helps her find a replacement chef for the scheduled cooking show.

#Honorable Mention 'Appétit' by Christina Janke SYNOPSIS - A young woman discovers why she's no men want to date her, no matter how great of a cook she is. Her cat seems like the only one who understands her.

#Honorable Mention 'Butler's Pantry' by Katja Blum SYNOPSIS - After the famous host of a cooking show collapses on set, an EMT moonlighting as first aid provider takes him to the ER. But who is saving whose life?

#Honorable Mention 'Those Awkward Moments' by Amanda Homco SYNOPSIS - A news anchor meets a suitor and loses her job in a couple of awkward events.
