#3 'Racing With the Sun' by Hunter Johnson SYNOPSIS - A teenager in the city wishes she could escape into the world she paints.

#4 'The West-East Restaurant' by Julie Wright SYNOPSIS - Refugees from South Vietnam in the late 60s, Mr. Han and his sister carve out a place for a small restaurant in an industrial city in southern Michigan. An unlikely friendship with a street artist brings them great joy and no little sorrow.

#5 'Ace of Hearts' by Bianca Breen SYNOPSIS - A woman cannot find her son on the opening night of their restaurant.

#Honorable Mention 'Art Therapy' by Ryn Hughes SYNOPSIS - “A young server takes it upon herself to enact revenge against a rude bully.”

#Honorable Mention 'The Opening Of A Mind and Business' by Mariel Angela Marcelo SYNOPSIS - Pride, deadly to many, claims its hold in minds and businesses. The simple remedy, like to many mental illnesses, is love.
