terrible man for his ability to polish stones into diamonds. With the
help of a friend, they find a way out.

wise old man knew best, as his son learned the hard way.
#4 'Family Tradition' by Betsy A. Riley SYNOPSIS - As Jasper the elf
struggles to pass his apprentice exam, his world is threatened by
failure of the sun magic that powers their tree houses and the magical
object factory.
#5 'Skra and Urou' by Stefanie Klimaseski SYNOPSIS - Earth is in danger
when two adversaries take their battle to the extreme.
#Honorable Mention 'A Window in the Clouds' by Nicholas Olson SYNOPSIS -
Lizzie’s first trip outside the Factory is very enlightening – and she
might even survive it with a little help from a friend.
#Honorable Mention 'June's Sun' by Brett Willis SYNOPSIS - Quite a while
ago the sun was half dark and half light. Though many people lived on
the light side of the sun, they all agreed that one man alone should
labor to keep it bright.
#Honorable Mention 'The Lightning Bug Factory' by David Boop SYNOPSIS -
Young farmer Oliver Bittengoat stumbles upon a princess trapped between
worlds. To rescue her, Oliver sets upon a quest that will lead him to
the mischievous fairy Gilderdyne, mistress of the Lightning Bug Factory
