friends celebrate a birthday in a cabin in the woods, but who or what is
behind all the strange goings on within?
#Honorable Mention 'Liquid Gold' by Craig Horsley SYNOPSIS - Anonymous
checks are being received by Ginny, a single mother. Who is sending
them? Its all thanks to a long ago sleepover and an invention that was
inspired by that night.
#Honorable Mention 'Portrait of a Boy' by Raghib Siddiqui SYNOPSIS -
Lloyd brilliant schizophrenic man believes that his son Calvin has been
kidnapped by a neighboring family using a sleepover as a ruse, an
incident being investigated by a policeman who is interviewing Lloyd's
psychiatrist before carrying out a search warrant and possible arrest of
Lloyd on the grounds that he had illegally ransacked the neighboring
family's home in search of his son. During the interview, it is revealed
that Lloyd is a unique schizophrenic whose “son” is actually a
hallucinated younger version of himself that never existed in the first
place, whose “disappearance” was a symbolic product of abandonment of
Lloyd by his own parents; but in a twist, it is subsequently revealed
that the psychiatrist himself is Lloyd, and that Lloyd and Calvin as
described to the officer were both hallucinated by this psychiatrist.
